Comments

In addition to B cell markers, the cells have many characteristics of dendritic cells.

The cells are positive for Epstein-barr virus (EBV).

They produce fascin, interleukin 1 alpha (IL-1 alpha), interleukin 2 (IL-2), interleukin 6 (IL-6), interleukin 16 (IL-16), transforming growth factor beta1 (TGF beta1), and tumor necrosis factor (TNF).

 

Complete Growth Medium The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, Catalog No. 30-2001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
Subculturing
Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start cultures at 3 X 105 cells/mL and maintain between 3 X 105 and 3 X 106 cells/mL.

Medium Renewal: Add fresh medium every 2 to 3 days (depending on cell density).
Cryopreservation
Freeze medium: Complete growth medium supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO
Storage temperature: liquid nitrogen vapor phase
