DEC-205-/- knock-out mice were immunized with purified protein from human DEC-205 cells.

Complete Growth Medium The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, Catalog No. 30-2001.To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 5%
Subculturing
Protocol: Cultures can be maintained by the addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 2 X 10 exp(5) viable cells/ml. Maintain cell density between 1 X 10(5) and 1 X 10(6) viable cells/ml.
Medium Renewal: Add fresh medium every 2 to 3 days (depending on cell density)
Cryopreservation
Freeze medium: Culture medium with an additional 5% fetal bovine serum, 95%; DMSO, 5%
Storage temperature: liquid nitrogen vapor phase
