Cell Type hybridoma: B lymphocyte
Product Format frozen
Morphology lymphoblast
Culture Properties suspension
Biosafety Level 1
Disease Choriocarcinoma
Derivation Animals were immunized with BeWo cells (ATCC CCL-98).
Spleen cells were fused with P3-NSI/1-Ag4-1 myeloma cells.
Genes Expressed
immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against the trop-2 antigen of human trophoblasts cells and choriocarcinomas
Tumorigenic Yes
Effects
Yes, in BALB/c mice
Comments
The antibody defines an antigen that is expressed on trophoblasts and choriocarcinoma cells but not on blood cells or other tumor cells.

Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox).

Complete Growth Medium The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, Catalog No. 30-2001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
Complete Growth Medium
Culture Medium: RPMI 1640 medium with 2 mM L-glutamine adjusted to contain
1.5 g/L sodium bicarbonate, 4.5 g/L glucose, 10 mM HEPES, and 1.0 mM sodium
pyruvate, 90%; fetal bovine serum, 10%.
Subculturing
Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start cultures at 2 X 105 cells/mL and maintain between 1 X 105 and 1 X 106 cells/mL.
Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days
Cryopreservation
Freeze Medium: Complete growth medium supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO
Storage Temperature: Liquid nitrogen vapor phase
Isotype IgG1 (Igh-4a allotype)
Name of Depositor AM Stall
