Simplifying assay development with molecular standards: Remove culturing from the equation

Reliable controls are a critical component in the development of molecular-based assays. However, the extraction, preparation, and validation of nucleic acids can be time and labor intensive. Further, many microorganisms can be difficult to culture or may require a high-containment facility, which requires additional expertise and equipment.
