Storage Conditions At the ATCC, PEG-1450 is stored at 2°C to 8°C, but the reagent may be stored at room temperature.
This reagent is used to assist fusion of myeloma and spleen cells to form hybridomas. 

PEG-1450 is packaged as 2 gram aliquots in amber vials that protect the product from light. PEG is undiluted and is a white solid. It is supplied sterile and pretested for cytotoxicity.

Biosafety classification is based on U.S. Public Health Service Guidelines, it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that their facilities comply with biosafety regulations for their own country.

Quality Control Specifications Each lot is tested for bacterial and fungal contamination. Cytotoxicity testing is performed on NS-1 cells at a 40% w/v concentration. Cells must remain greater than 80% viable after exposure to PEG.

  • Customers located in the state of Hawaii will need to contact the Hawaii Department of Agriculture to determine if an Import Permit is required. A copy of the permit or documentation that a permit is not required must be sent to ATCC in advance of shipment.
