Documentation

ATCC determines the biosafety level of a material based on our risk assessment as guided by the current edition of Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories (BMBL), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. It is your responsibility to understand the hazards associated with the material per your organization’s policies and procedures as well as any other applicable regulations as enforced by your local or national agencies.

Detailed product information

General

Specific applications
suicide vector
vector permitting positive selection for transposon mutagenesis
vector permitting visual detection of transposon mutagenesis beta-galactosidase beta-D-galactosidase
vector that produces reporter gene fusion mutants via random transposon mutagenesis

Characteristics

Comments
Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--5.2, 4.6 (doublet); HindIII--8.0, 4.8, 1.1, 0.92; NotI--13.0, 1.7.
This vector was used to generate transposon reporter gene fusion mutants at high frequencies in Vibrio sp. S14 and Pseudomonas sp. S9. It may be a useful mutation analysis tool in other bacterial strains susceptible to Tn10 transposition.
